HuffsList.com listings are optimized for Search Engines I cannot tell you how to run your business. That's your area of expertise. However, I can show you how HuffsList.com helps you improve your visibility on the web.

On social and professional networks, such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, you find people through friends of friends and groups. You must click on their public profile to find out about them, or invite them to join your network to see more. Most of these networks offer the ability to see more detail up front when you pay a subscription fee. The problem is that you still have to first find people by name, group or title; and then look at their listing to see what they really do. Though great in a corporate environment, titles do not work as well when you are an independent consultant, contractor or freelancer.

When a potential customer searches the internet using keywords and phrases for the services they need, they will find professional people when the professional's Meta data includes services that match the searcher's keywords and phrases. All search engines typically index web pages first, using their Meta data; second, their links; and third, all keywords repeated in the text of the page.

To facilitate our listings being found, we create unique Meta data for each listing from the services our professionals offer. We build the Meta title using the business name and (if shown) personal name along with the listing's major categories. For the Meta description, we give our professionals the ability to create a unique description or list the professional's service keywords. And, of course, we list all of the services as the Meta keywords. Both title and description are the most significant content of the page that all search engines look at. Several of the bigger search engines no longer place as much emphasis on the Meta keywords as they once did.

Another feature on Huffs List is that we designed the site so that our main pages are only indexed once. We also include a complete list of links to the professional listings, each of which is unique, so each page is indexed as a unique page.

We repeat the keywords (your services) at least twice, high up in the listing page's content. Search engines like to see keywords repeated as long as these words are not repeated over and over again.

An finally, search engines will see the professional's links first.
